The 57-year-old actress starred as Joey Tribbiani’s (Matt LeBlanc) crazy stalker Erika in the season 2 episode The One After the Superbowl.
In the iconic instalment, Erika believes Joey is actually his Days of Our Lives character Dr. Drake Ramoray and goes on a date with him and ends up licking his hand at the restaurant table.
However, the Chalet Girl star explained that her then-boyfriend and former tennis player Andre, to whom she was married from 1997 to 1999, was so enraged by the risque nature of the role, that he stormed out before going home and ‘smashing all his trophies’.
Brooke said that she later learned that Andre was addicted to crystal meth at the time, adding: ‘So that irrational behaviour I’m sure had something to do with that.’
‘In the scene, I’m supposed to lick Joey’s fingers, because they’re the hands of a genius, and I want to devour them, and I’m a nut,’ she said.
‘He [Matt] was cute — he was, like, “I’ve washed my hands and they’re all clean.” I was, like, “I had a mint!”
She added to : ‘Andre was in the audience supporting me, and he stormed out.
‘He said, “Everybody’s making fun of me. You made a fool of me by that behaviour.” I’m like, “It’s comedy! What is the matter with you?”‘
The publication noted that Andre wrote in his autobiography about using meth in 1997, a year after the Friends episode in question was filmed, and he didn’t respond to requests for comment.
