Kate’s stepdad Roy Battersby, 87, is currently in hospital after reportedly suffering a stroke while also fighting two different types of cancer.
She left his bedside to in Beverly Hills before skipping the parties afterwards to head back to him and her family at the hospital.
Taking to Instagram in the early hours on Tuesday, the LA-based star shared a slew of pictures from her night, which she captioned: ‘Golden globes 2024 start to end @goldenglobes @cbstv.’
Kate wore a stunning silver Atelier Zuhra gown, which was with a grey tulle skirt and bustle, and a matching ruffle at her neck.
She accessorised with House of Fisher rings, bejewelled cuffs and towering stiletto platform heels.
Cycling through a few pictures of her and co-presenter Don Cheadle, who gave Killers of the Flower Moon’s Lily Gladstone her gong for best actress in a motion picture (drama), Kate then added a couple of photos at the end that showed her sitting by her stepdad’s bedside in hospital.
Still clad in her dress and heels from the Golden Globes, Kate could be seen tucking into a burger alongside her close friends Gabriella Morpeth and Craig Minton, and a family member.
The next photo showed her with her heels up and glasses on as she checked something on her phone later on in the evening.
The Underworld actress was supported in the comments by friends and fans, with @jacquieblange telling her: ‘I don’t know how you made it through last night with all that is going on. You are strong and a consummate pro. Having to leave the side of your beautiful Roy to honor this commitment at the Globes was above and beyond.
‘Sending love and prayers to you and your family. I’m so happy you were able to make it back to the hospital. ❤️’
Kate then responded: ‘Thank you and thank you for your supportive texts all the way through . That was so kind xx.’
User @mrsfrk added: ‘Oh gosh. My dad died when I was little…to have to say goodbye to another dad makes my heart ache for you. Praying for you and your family during this time. ❤️’
‘Thank you .. I am so sorry for you too xx,’ replied Kate, whose biological dad, Porridge actor Richard Beckinsale, died aged 31 in 1979.

However, her daughter has alluded to both of her parents’ health issues recently on social media, sharing photos of Judy in hospital in August.

The pictures also included a close-up of Kate with swollen eyelids, suggesting she had been crying, as well as a little tombstone for Clive, her .
Kate continued: ‘Pair grief and sickness and fear with as much life and laughter and celebration as you possibly can. It doesn’t mean you are having some sort of crisis.
‘It means you are choosing life, fiercely. Be brave, and when you don’t feel brave, listen.
‘Laugh hard, dance hard, cry hard, love hard with those you trust. Spread love when you can. Read. Stay in bed and cry when it’s from all sides and feels like an avalanche.
‘Try not to be mean, or to take on others meanness. People can break. Be kind. Fight with everything you’ve got for your loved ones, and for your own spirit x.’
‘Kate has been caring for her parents, who both have serious illnesses, for most of the year,’ a source told the publication last month.

Sharing pictures with a frail-looking Roy and Judy amid photos of her glammed up for photoshoots and events on December 31, Kate looked back over the last portion of the year.
