The presenter has now spoken out about her reason for not always being present.

After she’s done her Thursday shift Glasgow-born Lorraine travels ‘home’ to spend time with her mum Anne who resides in East Kilbride in Scotland, while Lorraine herself lives in a riverside property in Buckinghamshire with her husband Steve.

Lorraine has previously spoken about Anne’s health battles and has for their care.
Anne, 81, was hospitalised in 2022 after being diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome – a condition that stops the kidneys from functioning properly.

Speaking about getting care for both her parents, Lorraine said: ‘My dad also has health issues, including a heart condition, and with them living in Scotland, my brother Graham in Singapore and me in London, we realised they were going to need a bit of help.
‘So, when my mum came back home, I brought it up and I said: “Obviously, it’s for you, but it’s also for me and Graham. It’ll make us feel better”.’
