The webslinging hero is getting a bit of a costume change in the upcoming comic Zero War and Marvel have used to show it off first.

Epic Games and have had an excellent relationship with crossovers so far, with Disney practically turning Fortnite into a weird playground of their properties, including , Marvel, and even Tron.

As the partnership ramps up, with Darth Vader and Indiana Jones now part of this current season’s battle pass, the comic publisher plans to release Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War, a six issue limited series.

Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War will feature heroes from across both universes getting together to defeat a bigger evil. As part of the story, Epic has hinted that Spider-Man would be getting a make over in the process.

Now the costume has been revealed, giving the webhead a much more armoured look to presumably deal better with the oncoming bullets from those trapped on the Fortnite island.

To get hold of the skin in-game, you’ll need to grab hold of a first print issue, as it’s coming to the game at a later date. The comics will also offer a unique item with each issue, which include:

  • An Iron-Man based wrap with issue 2 on July 13
  • A Wolverine themed pickaxe with issue 3 on August 17
  • A Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War spray on August 31
  • A loading screen with art from Fortnite x Marvel: Zero War on September 28

If you unlock all five cosmetics, there’s a mystery ‘additional outfit’ that will unlock but that’ll also be in the shop, whatever it is.

Details are scarce around that right now, but if you don’t feel like going down to the local comic book store, the Marvel Unlimited subscription will give you access to all five cosmetics if you read the comics that way.

Like most comic book characters, Spider-Man is constantly getting redesigned and then immediately flipped back to how it was, such as an unsuccessful attempt in 2006’s Civil War to put him in orange and red.

Famously, the black suit became hugely popular before being spun off into the anti-hero and sometimes villain Venom. A personal favourite includes an all white suit when partnered with the Fantastic Four.
