The new villain is a fluffy white rabbit, but don’t let its cute exterior fool you.
The Time Lord’s latest adversary is said to look anything but evil with its cuteness, but not all will be as it seems.
The adorable creature will in fact be a deadly monster named Beep the Meep intent on destroying the Time Lord.
It’s a move that show bosses are said to be confident will be a hit with younger viewers.
Beep will appear alongside creatures called The Wrarths, with both having appeared in comic strips published in Doctor Who Weekly magazine in the 1980s.
The new Beep, however, will apparently be an even more ‘innocent’ and fluffy version of the more rough, grey and dishevelled original character.
He is expected to battle the Doctor when David Tennant returns to the role for the BBC sci-fi show’s 60th anniversary next year.
It’s also been reported that Beep The Meep was revived by showrunner Russell T Davies who looked to the comics for inspiration.
‘Younger viewers will love Beep – he appears to be meek and cute, but he’s as deadly as a Dalek or a Cyberman,’ .
‘He [Russell] has tapped into the novels and audio adventures, adapting them for TV.
‘It’s no surprise he’s looked to the comics, as Beep the Meep was one of the most popular creations.’
The new regular Doctor, who will be played by star , the first black Doctor, may also face Beep.
Speaking after his appointment was announced, to the BBC later in 2023, told the broadcaster: ‘It feels really amazing. It’s a true honour.
‘This role is an institution and it’s so iconic.
‘I feel very grateful to have had the baton handed over and I’m going to try to do my best.’
With new faces and new twists to come, some familiar ones are returning to the Sci fi show.
Former Doctor David will be returning to the BBC sci-fi series for three 60th anniversary specials alongside Catherine Tate, who played his sidekick Donna Noble.
There has been no confirmation of reports that other previous Doctor Who stars, including Matt Smith, will be back for the shows.
Doctor Who will return to BBC One this autumn.
