Paul Walker’s brother Cody Walker dissolved into tears remembering the late Fast and Furious star close to the 10-year anniversary of his death.
The beloved actor was just 40 when he died in November 2013, after the car he was travelling in crashed into a lamp post in California.
Since his death, The Lazarus Project star has been by his fans, family and friends, with even the Fast and Furious franchise.
Now his bereaved brother Cody has shared how the family pay tribute to him each year, as he admits it’s ‘hard to believe’ he’s been gone 10 years.
‘Usually … member of the family will take pictures of the sunrise of the sunset on his birthday,’ Cody began.
However he became overtaken by emotion and was forced to stop to wipe away tears during the interview with , while Fast and Furious star Tyrese Gibson, sitting alongside him, quickly leapt up to give him a hug.
Through tears, Cody regained his composure and lovingly recalled his brother playing ‘such a big role in my life’ as he was 15 years older than him and took him under his wing when their parents divorced, with Cody still in middle school at the time.
‘I got to travel a lot with him, he’d take me away. My mom would say, “He’s got to come back for school,” and [Walker] would just say, “Oh, he’s learning everything he needs to learn with me.”‘
‘He meant a lot of a lot of things to a lot of people. And we miss him a lot.’
And amid reports that Walker’s daughter Meadow, 24, has become estranged from the family, Cody said they were ‘very proud’ of what she’s achieved.
”She’s doing her own thing. She’s pursuing that career. She’s finding her success. Very proud of her right now.’
Meadow, who was 14 when her father died, appeared in Fast X and works as a supermodel, and married in 2021.
Her appearance in the franchise followed in the footsteps of her famous father, who played Brian O’Conner in five Fast movies and featured posthumously in Furious 7 in 2015, two years after his death.
