has just well and truly spoken out after the recent Beckham documentary touched upon back in the early 2000s.
The , and the footballer, 48, were thought to have had the alleged affair while the latter was playing for , and wife Victoria Beckham was flitting between Spain and the UK.
Former TV star Rebecca worked as David’s personal assistant, and in 2004 she made headline news with the claim.
The star told Sky at the time the Manchester United player was an ‘amazing lover’ and that they ‘couldn’t keep their hands off each other’.
She said, according to reports: ‘We were just locked into each other all night conversation-wise, other people noticed… we just connected.’
Now the historic alleged affair has been churned up once more, as just weeks ago Posh and Becks released a Netflix documentary looking back at David’s career and their life together in the spotlight.
Producers even asked them about the infamous alleged affair. David has always denied the Scan**lous rumours, calling them ‘ludicrous’.
‘It was the hardest period for us because it felt like the world was against us,’ the former Spice Girl said in the new Netflix series – titled Beckham – about the time news broke of the alleged affair.
‘Here’s the thing – we were against each other if I’m completely honest.’
Meanwhile, the ex-England midfielder called the stories ‘horrible’ and said they were ‘difficult to deal with’.
‘I think we both felt at the time that we were, not losing each other, but drowning,’ he said, adding: ‘I don’t know how we got through it, in all honesty.’
Now, Rebecca has spoken out after the Beckham documentary and has accused David of ‘playing the victim’ – as well as making some further claims against the ex-footballer.
‘It’s all, “poor me”. He needs to take responsibility,’ she told the , talking about David.
‘He can say whatever he likes of course and I understand he has an image to preserve, but he is portraying himself as the victim and he’s making me look like a liar, like I’ve made up these stories.
‘He is indirectly suggesting that I’m the one who has made Victoria suffer,’ she said.
Rebecca agreed with David’s words the stories were ‘horrible’ but also claimed that they were ‘true.’
She then accused the footballer of misleading the public, and dragging the whole thing back up and ‘affecting [her] reputation.’
Rebecca also claimed that while she was having the alleged affair with the father-of-five, he also got cosy with a Spanish model.
She claimed that at Real Madrid striker Ronaldo’s party in September 2003 – where there was food, dancing, a samba band, and flowing champagne – Becks was ‘hiding at the bottom of the garden’ talking to the model.
Rebecca explained how the sight ‘hurt’ her, and claimed that later in the night Victoria called her, upset that David wasn’t picking up the phone.
When Rebecca went to find him for Victoria, she claims his two bodyguards were standing ‘outside a door’.
The Farm star then described how she whispered, ‘It’s Victoria!” and mimed holding the phone, to which the bodyguards ‘disappeared’ and came back with David.
‘I can see the model in the background lying on the bed. I can see it’s a bedroom. I was fuming and I just looked at him, gave him the phone and said “Your wife”,’ said Rebecca – who added she felt like a ‘stupid fool’ at the time, but claimed he ‘had his claws into’ her.
In a statement when the allegations first arose, a then 28-year-old David said: ‘During the past few months I have become accustomed to reading more and more ludicrous stories about my private life.
‘The simple truth is that I am very happily married. I have a wonderful wife and two very special kids. There is nothing any third party can do to change these facts.’
Victoria previously explained how their marriage hasn’t always been plain sailing.
‘No one said marriage was going to be easy. Yes, there have been bumps along the road,’ she said.
‘But the fact is we’ve come out of everything we’ve been through stronger and happier.’
