S Club website updated without the ‘7’ following Paul Cattermole’s death

The website has been updated to remove the ‘7’ from the band’s name following the tragic death of .

Just months after the band in an epic UK tour, they took to today of Cattermole’s death.

Now, the band’s official website’s name has been changed to ‘S Club’ rather than ‘S Club 7’, seemingly reflecting the loss of Cattermole on April 6 at the age of 46.

The website still contains merchandise fans can purchase with the name ‘S Club 7’, as well as details of their upcoming reunion tour.

The homepage paying tribute to their ‘brother.’

‘We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul,’ it begins, alongside a picture of the singer during his time with the band.

‘There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.

‘He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time.’

It goes on to that that if fans would like to share their condolences, send any messages to [email protected], and the band will ensure the messages are shared with Cattermole’s family and friends.

Cattermole was one of the original seven musicians that formed the band in 1998 alongside , , , , , and .

The late singer was the first to leave the band a year before they split in 2003.

His family made a statement confirming his death, which read: ‘It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole.

‘Paul was found yesterday, 6th April 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon.

‘While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances.

‘Paul’s family, friends and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time.’
