Homer, Bart, and the rest of the Simpsons clan are set to be given a new look in the upcoming ’ Treehouse of Horror XXXIII.
The spooky special will see the beloved family of five transformed into anime as they parody famous thrillers.

As she spits out ‘disgusting’, Lisa laments the state of the world and global warming, warning: ‘The human race is only 20 cow farts away from total extinction and we deserve it.’
Meanwhile, other pictures show the effects of an anime makeover on Homer, who sports a 5 o clock shadow as she sips sake, and Marge, whose iconic blue hairstyle is instead wrapped up in a bun.
Divided into three parts, the latest instalment of the long-running ‘toon’s Halloween spectacular will satirise The Babadook, Death Note and .
According to the synopsis, the 33rd annual Treehouse of Horror will see Marge’s resentment take a monstrous form, while Lisa tries to save the planet through murder and Homer realises he’s not the man he thought he was.
Last year’s horror special riffed on shows and films including Bambi, seeing Millhouse Van Houten shot while Marge and Bart flee and Oscar-winning Parasite.
In the regular The Simpsons, which is in its 34th season, fans are looking forward to an episode starring Simu Liu.

Showrunner Matt Selman told : ‘We have Simu Liu from Marvel’s Shang-Chi in an upcoming show as Lisa’s perfect future boyfriend. We have our season premiere where Homer gets into a conspiracy cabal while hunting down a missing turtle.
‘I’m very excited about one where Krusty has a kind of nice-guy-type afternoon syndicated Ellen DeGeneres talk show that surprisingly goes awry. And then we have huge guest part for iconic comedy legend Melissa McCarthy coming up.’
