The 31-year-old appeared on Good Morning America earlier today when he was questioned about how they have adjusted to life with two children.
Questioned over whether he is getting any sleep, he laughed: ‘No. But it’s great. We’re in the trenches.’
Discussing how life on the road has changed, he continued: ‘They’ve been on tour with me.
‘My second daughter was born while we were on tour, but my first daughter comes to the shows, she’s quite aware…
‘I think she assumes everyone else’s dad sings as well, though.’
Speaking in a Ask Me Anything game backstage, Ed shed further light on how he has found expanding his family.
‘It’s great,’ the Bad Habits singer insisted. ‘It’s every cliché that people say about parenting. You love both kids exactly the same but also completely differently.
‘It’s great, I’m really enjoying being a father of two.’
Ed and Cherry were childhood friends before they took the plunge and started dating in 2015, but have made sure to keep their romance firmly behind closed doors in that time.
They took things one step further by tying the knot in 2019, and welcomed their first child a year later.
In true form, the Grammy-winner announced Lyra’s birth on Instagram with a simple photo of booties placed on a blanket.
‘‘Ello! A quick message from me as I have some personal news that I wanted to share with you…,’ he penned at the time.
‘Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter – Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran.
‘We are completely in love with her.
‘Both mum and baby are doing amazing and we are on cloud nine over here. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Lots of love and I’ll see you when it’s time to come back, Ed x.’
Two years later and new booties came out for a second announcement, as Ed confirmed the arrival of baby number two.
‘Want to let you all know we’ve had another beautiful baby girl,’ he added. ‘We are both so in love with her, and over the moon to be a family of 4 x.’
