full-back Cedric Soares has no interest in moving away from the club, despite reported interest in a summer move from and Porto.
The 30-year-old has been enjoying his most consistent run in the Gunners first team this season since joining the club from Southampton in 2020.
This is largely thanks to the injury to right-back , but Cedric has made the most of it and made 13 starts in the league this campaign, more than he managed in the season-and-a-half prior.
The Portuguese remains under contract at the Emirates until 2024, but Newcastle and Porto are thought to be interested in testing his availability over the summer.
Depending on the size of any bid that comes in for the right-back, Arsenal could be persuaded into letting him go, but Cedric himself has no interest in leaving north London.
Portuguese publication report that Cedric is very happy where he is, reports of bids are simply speculation and he does not want to move away from Arsenal.
Cedric will likely be out of the team again with Tomiyasu returning from injury, with Arsenal legend Tony Adams saying he is delighted to see the Japanese star back and the Portuguese ‘scares the life’ out of him.
‘Tomi came back right at the end there which is great because I’m still scared about Cedric,’ said Adams after the Premier League meeting with Manchester United. ‘He scares the life out of me so it’s good to see Tomi back in action.
‘If we can get him back and get solid defensively, I think we’ve got fourth.’
