have held discussions about entering the race to sign striker .

The Serbia international joined the Old Lady from Fiorentina 18 months ago in a £62.8million transfer but has struggled to live up to expectations.

Vlahovic has scored a modest 17 goals in his 42 Serie A appearances for the Turin giants who endured a difficult campaign last season.

Juve are keen to recoup a large chunk of the fee they shelled out for the 23-year-old but the bidding war they anticipated appears unlikely to materialise.

Arsenal, who were interested in Vlahovic when he made clear his desire to leave Fiorentina, are no longer in need of a centre forward, while Chelsea, according to the Daily Mail, have been put off by the player’s salary demands.

Chelsea have put a huge emphasis over the last 12 months on reducing their wage bill, a factor that played a role in the decision to sell Mason Mount to Manchester United, and are unwilling to threaten the stability they are close to achieving.

Big earners such as N’Golo Kante, Kai Havertz, Chrstian Pulisic and Kalidou Koulibaly have already departed this summer and more high-profile names are expected to head for the Stamford Bridge exit door in the coming weeks.
