Erik ten Hag eager to sign another Ajax star to help solve Man Utd attack problems

is eager to ring striker Brian Brobbey to during the January transfer window.

United’s struggles for goals has been well documented this season and are the lowest goal scorers among the top 13 sides in the , managing just 24 goals in 21 appearances. Only Crystal Palace, Burnley and Sheffield United have scored less this term.

, has scored just twice in the Premier League with Marcus Rashford’s struggles also leaving United blunt in attack.

According to , Ten Hag is eager to try and address the problem by once again returning to former club Ajax and bringing in Brobbey this month.

Ten Hag was again interested in bringing the Netherlands international to United last summer before contact broke off.

Ajax are reluctant to sell Brobbey this month and should United be unable to do a deal, ten Hag will push for the club to return to the negotiating table in the summer – providing he is still the United boss.

Brobbey has scored 13 times in 25 appearances this season, nine of those coming in the Eredivisie. He managed 14 in all competitions in his first season back at Ajax last term.

In his first summer in charge, ten Hag returned to his old club to sign Lisandro Martinez in a £54m deal with United also signing Antony from the Dutch giants late in the transfer window for £85m.

Last summer, the club brought in Andre Onana as David de Gea’s long-term replacement in goal, with the Cameroon international another to have played under ten Hag at Ajax prior to his move to Inter Milan. 

United are likely to be limited to loan signings this month.

This time last year, Marcel Sabitzer and Wout Weghorst arrived in short-term loan deals.
