Arsenal legend Paul Merson isn’t sure when ’s next win will happen, suggesting it might not come till next season.
It has been a who are currently languishing down in 12th place in the Premier League ahead of .
Despite spending a record-breaking £538million on transfers, neither nor could get the Blues firing, and things have only gotten worse under interim manager .
The club legend has by a combined score of 9-1, while the team remain on a nine game winless run with their last victory coming against 10-man Leicester on the 11th March.
And believe it or not, it might just get worse for Chelsea given their remaining fixtures are against Arsenal, Bournemouth, Nottingham Forest, Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle.
Bournemouth and Forest may look easy on paper, but the Cherries are currently on a great run of five wins out of seven, while Steve Cooper’s side could always produce a shock as they battle against relegation.
All this has Merson wondering when and if they’ll win again before the end of season, telling : ‘I just don’t see this being a hard game for Arsenal.
‘I’d be shocked if Chelsea won. I’m looking at their fixtures and wondering where their next win could be coming from. Sure, they’ve got Nottingham Forest at home coming up but that’s the only relatively easy-looking fixture.
‘I don’t see anything but an Arsenal win here. Given Chelsea’s squad depth, they should not be in the position they are in.
‘Chelsea don’t have a good centre-forward. They can’t seem to figure out where the goals are coming from.
‘Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Chelsea‘
Arsenal themselves are struggling for form having suffered three poor draws and then a 4-1 loss at Manchester City, results that have left their title dreams in tatters.
Victory against Chelsea is a must therefore, and getting the win would move the Gunners back to the top of the table by just two points, albeit City would have two games in hand, with Pep Guardiola’s side set to host West Ham on Wednesday.
