Pablo Fornals is set to leave for Real Betis on transfer deadline day after the clubs agreed a deal worth around £6.8m.

The 27-year-old has been in east since 2019, making 202 appearances for the Hammers since his move from Villarreal.

He has remained in contention this season, making 15 appearances, but just four of those have been in a starting XI after falling down the pecking order.

The international’s contract at West Ham expires in the summer and the club have decided to cash in on him while they can, agreeing a deal worth just shy of £7m to take him back to La Liga on a five-and-a-half year deal.

Fornals will reunite with the manager who signed him for West Ham, Manuel Pellegrini, who is in charge of Real Betis.

The midfielder will undergo a medical in London before confirming the move before Thursday evening’s deadline.

Also on the way out of West Ham is Said Benrahma who has agreed an initial loan move with Lyon, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 28-year-old will cost £4.3m in a loan fee, with a £10.2m buy clause in the summer.

Similar to Fornals, Benrahma has made 13 Premier League appearances this campaign, but just five starts, failing to score a league goal.

Benrahma joined the Hammers on an initial loan from Brentford in 2020 and has since made 146 appearances for the club.
